At Gbit Tech LLC, we deploy Ubiquiti UniFi wireless systems built on Wi-Fi 7 access points (U7 Pro XGS for ceilings, U7 Pro Wall for rooms, U7 Pro Outdoor for patios and yards), and mesh configurations. We plan access point placement from the layout of the property, and a professional Wi-Fi site survey with heat maps and spectrum analysis is available as its own service or together with an installation. Request an estimate.
We build networks for high-bandwidth use and IoT devices that you can add to later.
Measure your Wi-Fi before you change it
We survey on site with an Ekahau Sidekick 2 and deliver coverage heat maps, an access point plan, and a written report. Available on its own, or as part of an installation when it is in scope.

How we plan Wi-Fi
Walls, floors and glass decide Wi-Fi coverage more than square footage does. Stucco over wire lath, concrete, stone and low-e windows all cut the signal, especially at 5 GHz and 6 GHz. So we start with the floor plan and a walk through the building, and place access points where they can reach the rooms people actually use.
Every access point gets its own CAT6A cable back to a UniFi switch, which powers it over PoE. We avoid wireless mesh between access points when a wire can be pulled, because a wired link is faster and steadier. After install we set channels and power, put guests and smart-home devices on their own networks, and check coverage by walking the property.
For a large property or a hard layout, a measured plan beats a guess. Depending on the deployment, we do a pre-install site survey and Ekahau report, which gives you heat maps and an access point plan before anything is installed. After install, we always check coverage by walking the property.
Questions to settle before we start
- How many people and devices are on the network at the busiest time?
- Which rooms and outdoor areas need strong signal, and which can do with less?
- Where does internet service enter the building, and where can the gateway and switch live?
- Is there cable in the walls already, and what kind?
- Do you want guests, staff, kids and smart devices on separate networks?
Mistakes we see with Wi-Fi
- One strong router in a closet. The signal drops with every wall, and the far rooms suffer.
- Adding access points with no plan. Radios close together on the same channels interfere and can make things worse.
- Hiding an access point in a cabinet or behind a TV. It belongs in the open, on a ceiling or high on a wall.
- Turning transmit power to the maximum. Your phone hears the access point, but the access point cannot hear the phone back.
- Reusing old cable without testing it.

Yes. Installation, configuration and tuning, including the wiring behind each access point.
The layout and the materials decide, not the square footage. A house with thick walls can need more access points than an open office of the same size. We plan the count from the floor plan.
Mesh is fine when no cable can be run. When one can, a wired access point is faster and steadier, so we plan that first.
Yes. We are primarily focused on UniFi, and we also service and troubleshoot other systems. Tell us what you have and we will say plainly whether it is worth fixing, keeping or replacing. See other low-voltage work.
We price the whole project, not the hour or the device, so it depends on the site. Read what drives the cost of a UniFi installation, sketch your property in Sight for a ballpark, then request an estimate.
