Gbit Tech UniFi installation
Low voltage in Calabasas and Woodland Hills

Calabasas is known for large homes in gated communities, and Woodland Hills splits between established residential streets and the offices and retail around Warner Center. The common thread is size: more rooms, more floors, more doors and more ground to cover.

We install UniFi systems that scale to that, and we keep each part simple to use. One app for cameras, one for doors, one for the network, with every cable run labeled so the system can be serviced years from now.

On the ground

Calabasas and Woodland Hills, from Old Town to Warner Center

Calabasas has Old Town along Calabasas Road, The Commons shopping center, and residential neighborhoods spread along Las Virgenes Road and Mulholland Highway. Many of those neighborhoods have their own entry gates and homeowner association rules, so approvals come up early in the planning.

Woodland Hills runs from Ventura Boulevard up to Mulholland Drive. Warner Center, near Topanga Canyon Boulevard, is where the tall office buildings are. Away from it, the streets are mostly ranch houses on regular lots, with larger homes in the hills to the south.

Both areas sit well inland and run hot, and many properties have mature trees and wide yards. Trees can get in the way of outdoor Wi-Fi, and even more of Starlink, which needs a clear view of the sky.

01 / WHAT PROPERTIES HERE NEED

What we plan for in Calabasas and Woodland Hills

01

Large single family homes

Houses with several thousand square feet often need many access points, plus switches with enough power over Ethernet to feed them and the cameras. We size the switch and the rack to match, with room to add devices later.

02

Gated communities

Many neighborhoods have their own entry gate and rules about exterior work. We install inside your property line, cover your own entry and intercom, and keep conduit and hardware tidy.

03

Hot summers and equipment

Inland temperatures get high, and attics get higher. We keep switches, recorders and power equipment in a ventilated closet or garage rack rather than the attic, and use outdoor rated gear for anything on the exterior.

04

Warner Center and office parks

Business suites need a clean rack, wired phones or desks, secure staff Wi-Fi, door access and cameras. We work with property managers on riser access and cable paths.

02 / TYPICAL JOBS

Typical UniFi jobs in Calabasas and Woodland Hills

01

A large house in a gated Calabasas community

Access points on every floor, plus the garage, casita and patio, fed by a switch with enough power over Ethernet for them and the cameras. The rack goes in a ventilated closet, not the attic.

02

A pool yard and guest house

An outdoor access point covering the yard, CAT6 to cameras on the pool and side gates, and a wired link to the guest house so it joins the main network.

03

A suite in a Warner Center office building

A rack and CAT6A to the desks, a door reader on the suite entrance, and cameras at reception. We coordinate with the building manager before any cable crosses a common area.

FAQ
Will you work inside an HOA community?

Yes. Our work stays inside your property. If your association has approval rules for exterior changes, we can supply equipment details for your submission.

How many access points does a big house need?

It depends on the layout, the walls and how many devices you have. A survey or a walkthrough answers it. We do not guess from square footage alone.

Do you install systems in Woodland Hills offices?

Yes. Typical office jobs combine a rack, Wi-Fi, door access and cameras, installed with the building manager's approval for cable paths.

Can Starlink work at a house surrounded by trees?

It needs a clear view of the sky, so we check the roof and the yard before choosing a spot. If trees get in the way, we look at a pole mount in a clearer part of the lot or at a different main connection.
