UniFi Installer for Encino and Tarzana

Large lots, long driveways and detached buildings are common in Encino and Tarzana. We plan the network around the whole property, not just the house.

Low voltage in Encino

South of Ventura Boulevard, Encino and Tarzana have some of the biggest residential lots in the Valley, with main houses, guest houses, pool houses and garages spread across the grounds. North of it you find office towers and commercial buildings.

A system for one of these properties is mostly a question of distance and structure. We decide how every building connects, where the equipment lives, and which cable or fiber gets there, then install and label all of it. UniFi is our main platform, and we also work on other systems that are already installed.

On the ground

Encino and Tarzana, north and south of the boulevard

Encino follows Ventura Boulevard, with mid-rise office buildings along it and shops and restaurants on either side. The homes sit north and south of the boulevard, and they are very different from each other.

North of Ventura, many houses are long single-story ranch homes on flat lots, some with a pool and a detached garage in back. South of it, the streets rise toward Mulholland Drive, and a property can drop away from the road so that the guest house or pool sits well below the main house.

Tarzana, to the west, takes its name from the ranch that author Edgar Rice Burroughs bought there. Reseda Boulevard and Ventura Boulevard are the two main commercial streets, and the residential streets between them have the same mix of flat ranch lots and hillside lots as Encino.

01 / WHAT PROPERTIES HERE NEED

What we plan for in Encino

01

Detached buildings

A guest house or office behind the pool is often too far for Wi-Fi from the main house to reach well. We connect each building by cable or fiber back to the main rack, and give it its own access point instead of stretching a signal across the yard.

02

Long driveways and gates

A gate set back from the street needs power, network and a place for the intercom to live. We plan the network run and the intercom, and connect our gate hub to your existing gate operator so the front door and the gate both show up in one app. We do not install or repair gate operators, boards or motors.

03

Hillside homes south of the boulevard

Streets climbing toward Mulholland Drive bring steep lots and multi-level houses. Perimeter cameras need to see downhill approaches, and access points are needed on every floor.

04

Office buildings on Ventura Boulevard

Suites in multi-tenant buildings usually need a tidy rack, secure Wi-Fi for staff and a separate guest network, cameras at the suite entrance, and card access for the door. We coordinate with building management on cable paths.

02 / TYPICAL JOBS

Typical UniFi jobs in Encino

01

A main house with a guest house and pool house

Fiber or conduit from the main rack to each building, an access point in each one, and UniFi Protect cameras on the pool yard and side gates. Every building ends up on one network.

02

A long driveway with a gate at the street

A UniFi Access intercom at the gate, with a gate hub wired to your existing gate operator, and a camera facing the approach. The operator itself stays with your gate company.

03

A suite in a Ventura Boulevard office building

A rack in the suite or the building closet, CAT6A to the desks and access points, a reader on the suite entrance and a camera at the reception door.

03 / SERVICES

Services we offer in Encino

UniFi is our main focus. We also service other systems already in place.

01

Structured cabling

Runs between the house and outbuildings, CAT6 to cameras and CAT6A to access points and wall jacks.

02

Fiber optics

Single-mode fiber to a far guest house or garage when the run is longer than copper handles well.

03

Wi-Fi installation

Indoor and outdoor UniFi access points so the yard, pool area and every building have coverage.

04

Security cameras

Perimeter and driveway cameras with local recording on your own recorder.

05

Access control

Intercom, gate hub and door readers on one system, with entry history in the app.

06

Wi-Fi site survey

An Ekahau Estate Survey measures coverage across the house and outbuildings before or after an install.

FAQ
Can one network cover the house and a guest house?

Yes. We cable each building back to a central rack, by copper or fiber depending on the distance, and put access points in each. Devices then move between buildings on one network.

Do you work in Tarzana too?

Yes. Encino and Tarzana are next to each other and we serve both, along with the rest of the San Fernando Valley.

What does an estate survey tell me?

It shows where Wi-Fi is strong and weak across the main house and outbuildings, and it gives an access point plan. An Estate Survey covers about 3,000 to 8,000 sq ft including outbuildings and is $1,250.

Our guest house has no network cable. Can you connect it?

Yes. If there is already conduit between the buildings, we pull through it. If there is not, we look at a new conduit path or fiber, and a point-to-point wireless link only as a fallback when a trench is not an option.
