Studio City and its neighbors, Valley Village, Toluca Lake and North Hollywood, include a lot of people who work from home or run a small production business. Home offices, music rooms, edit suites and rental studios put real demands on a network, and on the people who depend on it.
We install UniFi networks, cameras, door control and cabling with those users in mind: wired connections where it matters, Wi-Fi that holds up on calls and uploads, and a rack that is easy to service.
Studio City, Valley Village, Toluca Lake and North Hollywood
Studio City is named for the studio lot on Radford Avenue, now CBS Studio Center. A home edit room or a music room on the network is a normal thing to plan for here, along with the small offices and post houses along Ventura Boulevard and Laurel Canyon Boulevard.
Toluca Lake is built around a private lake, with houses on the water and on the tree-lined streets around it, and Riverside Drive carries the shops. Valley Village and North Hollywood have older low-rise apartment buildings and duplexes, small houses on narrow lots, and newer apartment buildings around Lankershim Boulevard and the NoHo Arts District.
Above Ventura Boulevard, Laurel Canyon Boulevard and Coldwater Canyon Avenue run up into the hills toward Mulholland Drive and Fryman Canyon. Side streets there are narrow, and the houses step up the slope, so the cable usually travels vertically.
What we plan for in Studio City
Home studios and edit suites
Large file transfers and shared storage are better on wired links. We pull CAT6A to the desks and rooms that need them and size the switch for the speeds you use, so you are not waiting on Wi-Fi to move media.
Hills above Ventura Boulevard
Streets off Laurel Canyon and Coldwater Canyon wind up steep lots with houses on several levels. Access points go on each floor and cameras cover the stairs and driveway approach, since the street can be well below the door.
Small offices and workshops
Production offices, workshops and creative businesses often share a space with guests and contractors coming and going. A door reader, cameras on the entrance, and a guest network separate from your work network handle most of it.
Rentals and ADUs
Where a unit is rented out, you may want its own network and its own door code. We set up separate access for the unit without a second internet service when the situation allows.
Typical UniFi jobs in Studio City
A home edit bay or music room
CAT6A from the room back to the rack, so a shared drive or a render machine never depends on Wi-Fi, plus an access point in the room for phones and laptops.
A production office or post house in NoHo or Toluca Lake
Door readers so crew credentials can be added and removed in the app, a camera on the entrance, and a guest network that stays apart from the storage and workstations.
A duplex or courtyard apartment building
A UniFi Access reader or intercom on the shared front door, cameras on the courtyard and parking, and an access point in the common areas, all managed by the owner from one app.
Services we offer in Studio City
UniFi is our main focus. We also service other systems already in place.
Structured cabling
Wired drops for desks, edit bays and TVs. CAT6A for data drops and access points, CAT6 for cameras.
Wi-Fi installation
Wi-Fi tuned for video calls and large uploads, with enough access points to avoid crowding one radio.
Security cameras
Cameras for driveways, side gates and equipment storage, recorded on a device you own.
Access control
Keypads and readers, so guests and crews get time-limited codes instead of copies of a key.
Other low voltage
Intercoms, legacy systems and other brands we can repair or integrate when you are not ready to replace everything.

Usually. We look at the attic, crawlspace and wall layout first. If a run is hard to reach, we show you the alternatives, like surface raceway, before any cutting.
It is a good idea. UniFi lets us keep guest or rental devices apart from your work and storage devices on the same equipment.
Yes. We serve those along with Valley Village and the rest of the San Fernando Valley, and you can request an estimate.
Yes. We use outdoor-rated CAT6A in conduit across the yard or along the roofline, with a sealed junction at each end, and put an access point in the back building.
