What we do

Gbit Tech installs Cleerline SSF™ (Stronger, Safer Fiber).

We use it for production studios, warehouses and other sites that need fast links with minimal signal loss.

Fiber carries 10G+ links between racks, buildings and long runs, with copper for the last stretch to each device: CAT6A for data drops and Wi-Fi access points, CAT6 for cameras.

Why Cleerline SSF?

We chose Cleerline SSF as our primary fiber. Traditional fiber can be fragile. Cleerline describes SSF as patented polymer-encapsulated glass that is more durable, can bend around corners without snapping, and leaves no sharp shards if damaged. Cleerline reports it terminates about 30% faster. We pair it with UniFi systems for end-to-end integration with your WiFi, security cameras and access control.

Multimode vs. single mode

Multimode fiber (MMF) is for shorter distances. OM3 (aqua jacket, up to 10G over 300m), OM4 (40G up to 150m, 100G up to 100m), and OM5 (wideband for even faster multi-wavelength transmission).

Single mode fiber (SMF) is for long distances. OS1 is the indoor tight-buffer grade and OS2 is the outdoor-rated, lower-loss grade. Standard 10G optics reach 10km, and long-reach optics go 40km or more.

Cleerline SSF cable variations

  • Duplex: classic zipcord for straightforward point-to-point connections.
  • Micro distribution: multiple strands (2-24+) in a slim jacket for dense backbones.
  • Breakout (tactical): rugged subunits for tough environments.
  • Rugged indoor-outdoor and armored: enhanced jacketing for outdoor conduits and harsh conditions.

Our installation process

A site walk, design, installation, testing, and integration with your existing setup, all under our C-7 low-voltage license.

Fiber link between two buildings, from the SFP+ port of a UniFi Pro Max 24 PoE in the main house to the SFP+ port of a UniFi Pro Max 16 PoE in the second building. Fiber carries no PoE, so the far switch runs on local power and powers the camera and access point there.
