Long Beach is one of the largest cities in LA County, with neighborhoods that feel very different from each other: beach streets in Belmont Shore, canals on Naples Island, high-rises downtown and industrial blocks near the Port. Signal Hill is a separate small city that Long Beach surrounds on all sides.
Older buildings and marine air shape most of the work here. Plaster walls, crawl spaces and salt on outdoor gear all affect how we plan a UniFi system, and the cable runs stay labeled and documented so the next person can follow them.
Belmont Shore, Naples Island, Signal Hill and the rest of Long Beach
Belmont Shore is built around Second Street, a long strip of restaurants and shops a few blocks from the beach, with small houses, duplexes and condos on the side streets. Naples Island sits right next to it, a set of canals with tightly packed houses and private docks.
Closer to downtown, Ocean Boulevard runs along the bluff with Craftsman houses, courtyard apartments and condo towers facing the water. Pine Avenue and Shoreline Drive have offices, restaurants and the convention center. Bixby Knolls, along Atlantic Avenue, has houses from the 1920s to the 1950s and a small business district.
Signal Hill rises above the city along Cherry Avenue and Willow Street, with hillside houses, newer townhomes and pumping oil wells next to the shopping centers. The Port and the blocks along the 710 freeway are warehouse and container country, and the business parks off Spring Street near the airport add offices and light manufacturing.
What we plan for in Long Beach
Craftsman bungalows and duplexes
Houses from the 1910s to the 1940s often have plaster walls and raised floors with a crawl space underneath. Cable usually goes through the crawl space and up inside closets, which keeps damage to the plaster low.
Salt air and the waterfront
Houses near the bay, the canals and the ocean live with damp, salty air that eats cheap hardware. We pick outdoor equipment with a weather rating and seal every outdoor connection, and the water side of the house gets extra attention.
Downtown condos and lofts
Downtown Long Beach has high-rise condos along Ocean Boulevard and Pine Avenue, with lofts in the East Village Arts District. Building management controls riser access and work hours, so approvals come first.
Port-side businesses and warehouses
Warehouses, trucking yards and light industrial buildings near the Port and the airport need cameras on the docks and fences, readers on staff doors and Wi-Fi that works under a high roof.
Typical UniFi jobs in Long Beach
A Craftsman house in Belmont Heights or Bluff Park
An access point on each floor, a camera on the front porch and another on the garage or alley side, and a rack in a closet. Cable goes through the crawl space where it can, which spares the plaster.
A canal-side house on Naples Island
An outdoor access point on the patio, cameras on the front door, the garage and the dock, and weather-rated gear throughout. Cable runs through the garage ceiling to a switch inside.
A warehouse or yard near the Port
Cameras on the dock doors and fence line, readers on staff doors, and high-mounted access points. Fiber links a second building across the yard when copper would run too far.

Yes. Both are on our list, along with Signal Hill and the rest of Long Beach, as part of serving all of LA Metro.
Yes. We look for the easiest path first, often the crawl space or the attic, and use closets and baseboards to avoid opening plaster. Anything that has to be cut is agreed before we start.
Lots are small and close together, so cameras get aimed at your own lot and dock, not the neighbors' windows or the public walkway. Docks and seawalls get weather-rated gear, and we run cable through the garage where we can.
Yes. Warehouses and yards usually need access points mounted high, cameras on the docks and fences, and fiber when a second building sits across the lot. We start with a walkthrough.
